GAMCA (Wafid) Medical Test for Gulf Jobs 2026: Fees, Booking and What to Expect

Published July 30, 2026 ยท by Hijrat โ€” visa consultants, Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Before any Gulf country stamps a work visa for a Pakistani applicant, you must pass a medical at an approved centre. The system โ€” long known as GAMCA and now run under the Wafid platform โ€” covers Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. Here is how it works in 2026, and what it really costs.

You cannot walk in โ€” book a token first

Wafid does not let you choose a medical centre. You register online, pay the appointment (token) fee, and the system assigns you a centre automatically in your city. The token slip shows your centre, date and a barcode โ€” take it with your passport to the appointment. Booking through unofficial agents costs extra and adds no advantage.

2026 fees

Expect two separate payments: an online token fee of roughly Rs 4,500 (payable by JazzCash, EasyPaisa, card or bank transfer) and the examination fee of roughly Rs 25,000โ€“28,000 paid at the centre. Repeat X-rays or extra lab work can add Rs 1,500โ€“3,000, and some centres offer urgent reporting for a premium. Keep receipts โ€” your employer or agent may reimburse them.

What the medical includes

The examination screens for conditions the GCC states test for: a chest X-ray, blood tests (including hepatitis B/C and HIV), urine analysis, vision check and a general physical. Results are usually uploaded to Wafid in about 5 working days (around 2 days for urgent), and your employer or agent can verify the FIT/UNFIT status online against your passport number.

Where the centres are

Approved centres operate in all major cities โ€” Islamabad and Rawalpindi (Blue Area, G-8, Satellite Town and others), Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Multan, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Faisalabad. Since allocation is automatic, applicants in twin cities are normally assigned somewhere local.

If you are marked UNFIT

An UNFIT result is not always final โ€” some findings (an unclear X-ray, a treatable infection) allow re-examination after treatment, while others are disqualifying under GCC rules. Get the detailed report from the centre and take medical advice before rebooking. Remember the sequence for a Gulf job: offer letter โ†’ GAMCA/Wafid medical โ†’ visa stamping โ†’ BEOE protector registration โ†’ fly. See also our guides to the Saudi work visa and Qatar work visa.
