Bahrain Visa for Pakistanis 2026: The BHD 29 eVisa, 14-Day Visits & the LMRA Work Route
Among all the Gulf states, Bahrain is one of the simplest for Pakistani travellers โ and one of the few where the eVisa is genuinely open to applicants from Pakistan, with no sponsor needed for a short visit. Whether you are planning a family trip to Manama, visiting relatives, or weighing a job offer, here is how Bahrain's system works in 2026.
The visit eVisa: online, fast and sponsor-free
Pakistani passport holders can apply directly on Bahrain's official eVisa portal. The standard visit eVisa costs around BHD 29 (roughly Rs. 21,500), is paid online by card, and arrives by email. It is typically valid for 30 days from approval and allows a stay of 14 days, which can be extended in Bahrain through the NPRA against an extension fee. Unlike Oman โ where the unsponsored eVisa is generally limited to GCC residents โ Bahrain's portal accepts applications from Pakistan itself.
What you need for the eVisa
- Passport valid for at least six months, plus a clear scan of the data page.
- Confirmed return air ticket and a hotel booking (or host details) in Bahrain.
- A stamped bank statement covering the last three months, generally showing a minimum balance of around BD 300 (about Rs. 220,000).
- A card for the online fee payment.
Applications are usually decided within a few working days, but apply at least two weeks before travel โ approvals are not guaranteed, and peak seasons slow everything down.
The work visa: employer-led through the LMRA
Bahrain's employment route runs through the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), and โ as everywhere in the Gulf โ it is your employer who applies. The company submits your passport details, signed employment contract and supporting documents; you complete medical tests and provide a police clearance; and the permit (fees around BHD 250, normally borne by the employer) is typically processed within about a week. Workers travelling from Pakistan should also complete Bureau of Emigration protector formalities where applicable. There is no legal "azad visa" in Bahrain โ any offer of a work visa without a named employer and LMRA permit is a scam.
Documents to prepare from Pakistan
For work files, have your passport, CNIC, attested educational or trade certificates and experience letters ready โ Urdu documents such as an FRC or nikah nama need certified translation and MOFA attestation before Gulf authorities accept them. Visiting family? Bahrain also suits multi-stop Gulf itineraries โ compare routes on our visas page, including our recent guides to Oman and Kuwait.
Hijrat prepares your eVisa file, verifies employer offers and LMRA permits, and handles attestation and translation โ from our Aabpara Market office in Islamabad, serving Rawalpindi and overseas Pakistanis. Fees always itemised before you pay.
Bahraini visa categories, fees and eligibility change without notice, and figures in rupees depend on exchange rates. This article reflects information available on the date of publication โ always confirm current requirements with Hijrat or the Bahraini authorities before applying; every decision rests with Bahrain's NPRA and LMRA.
