Oman Visa for Pakistanis 2026: eVisa, Sponsored Visits & Work Routes Explained

Published July 24, 2026 ยท by Hijrat โ€” visa consultants, Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Oman is one of the friendliest Gulf destinations for Pakistani families โ€” Muscat is a short flight away, and the Sultanate hosts a large, settled Pakistani community. But Oman's visa system treats Pakistani applicants differently depending on where you live, and that single detail decides which route you should use in 2026.

The eVisa: easiest if you live in the GCC

Oman's official eVisa portal works smoothly for Pakistani passport holders who are residents of a GCC country (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait or Bahrain) with a valid residence permit in an approved profession. For them, a 30-day tourist visa costs around OMR 20 (roughly Rs. 14,500) and is typically issued within about ten working days, delivered by email. Overseas Pakistanis in the Gulf visiting family in Oman find this the simplest option.

Applying from Pakistan: the sponsored route

For Pakistanis applying from Pakistan, the unsponsored eVisa is generally not available. Most successful files run through a sponsor in Oman โ€” a relative with residence, a hotel, or a company โ€” who applies on your behalf through the Royal Oman Police system, or through the embassy route with an invitation. Expect to provide a passport valid for at least six months, photographs, CNIC copy, proof of relationship for family visits (FRC/B-Form with attestation and certified translation where needed) and return bookings.

Work visas: employer-arranged only

There is no self-applied Oman work visa. An Omani employer must obtain a labour clearance and employment visa for you, after which you complete medicals and, for many trades, Bureau of Emigration processing in Pakistan. Be cautious with "Oman azad visa" offers โ€” like everywhere in the Gulf, a work visa without a real employer and clearance number is a scam, and Oman actively penalises visa misuse.

Before you book anything

  1. Confirm which route applies to you: GCC-resident eVisa, sponsored visit, or employer-arranged work visa.
  2. Check passport validity (six months minimum) and keep your CNIC/NICOP consistent with your passport details.
  3. Prepare attested, translated family documents for visit visas.
  4. Allow at least two weeks' processing before your travel date โ€” more in peak seasons.
