Thailand Visa for Pakistanis 2026: e-Visa, TDAC and How to Apply
Thailand is one of the most popular holiday destinations for Pakistani travellers, but you cannot simply fly in. In 2026 you need two things: an approved Thai visa and the mandatory Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). Here is how both work.
Do Pakistanis need a visa for Thailand?
Yes. Pakistani passport holders are not included in Thailand’s visa-exemption scheme, so you must obtain a visa before you travel — whether you arrive by air or by land. The most common choice for tourists is the 60-day tourist visa, available either as an online e-Visa or through the Royal Thai Embassy.
The tourist e-Visa
The Thai tourist e-Visa is applied for online through the official portal (thaievisa.go.th) and generally allows a stay of up to 60 days. The government fee is around US$40 (roughly 1,400 THB), while an embassy visa is typically US$40–60. Apply at least a couple of weeks before your trip, as processing times vary with demand.
The TDAC — mandatory and free
Separately from your visa, every traveller must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 72 hours before arrival. It applies to arrivals by air, land and sea, and it is completely free. Once submitted you receive a QR code to show on arrival. Only use the official Thai Immigration portal — never pay anyone who claims the TDAC has a fee.
Fees and documents
Prepare a passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages, a recent photograph, confirmed return flights, hotel bookings, and proof of sufficient funds. Some applicants are asked for bank statements to show they can support their stay. If your documents are in Urdu, you may also need certified translations. Confirm the current government fee before paying any agent.
How to apply, step by step
- Gather your passport, photo, return tickets, hotel bookings and bank statements.
- Apply for the tourist e-Visa online at the official Thai e-Visa portal, or in person at the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad or Karachi.
- Pay the visa fee and wait for approval, then download or collect your visa.
- Within 72 hours before departure, complete the free TDAC online and save your QR code.
- Travel with printed copies of your visa and TDAC confirmation.
Avoiding scams
Be cautious of agents “guaranteeing” a Thai visa or charging for the free TDAC — the decision always rests with Thai Immigration. Apply through official channels or a trusted consultant. If you would like help preparing a clean, complete application, explore our visa services or contact our team.
