Malaysia Visa for Pakistanis 2026: eVisa, MDAC and How to Apply

Published July 8, 2026 · by Hijrat — visa consultants, Islamabad & Rawalpindi

Malaysia is a popular destination for Pakistani travellers — for tourism, business and family visits. Before you fly, there are two separate things you must complete in 2026: an approved eVisa and the mandatory Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC). Here is how both work.

Do Pakistanis need a visa for Malaysia?

Yes. Pakistani passport holders do not get visa-free entry to Malaysia and cannot use the eNTRI facility (which is limited to certain nationalities). The correct route is the Malaysia eVisa, applied for online before you travel through the official immigration portal.

How the eVisa works

The tourist eVisa is normally issued as a single-entry visa that allows a stay of up to 30 days, with the visa itself valid for around three months from the date of issue. Processing usually takes about two to seven working days, so apply at least a couple of weeks before your trip to be safe.

The MDAC — a mandatory, free step

Separately from the visa, every traveller must submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online within three days before arrival. The MDAC is completely free and is not a visa — it is a digital arrival declaration. Never pay a third party who claims the MDAC costs money; complete it yourself on the official immigration website.

Fees and documents

Expect a passport valid for at least seven months on your arrival date, a recent photograph, a confirmed return ticket, hotel bookings, and proof of funds — many applicants are advised to show around PKR 200,000 (or equivalent) maintained over the previous months. eVisa fees vary by provider and any service charges, so confirm the current government fee before paying. If your documents are in Urdu, you may also need certified translations.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Gather your passport, photo, return ticket, hotel booking and bank statements.
  2. Apply for the eVisa online through Malaysia’s official immigration portal and pay the fee.
  3. Wait for approval (about 2–7 working days) and download the eVisa.
  4. Within three days before departure, complete the free MDAC online.
  5. Travel with printed copies of your eVisa and MDAC confirmation.

Avoiding scams

Malaysia visa fraud is common. Only apply through official channels or a trusted consultant, never pay for the free MDAC, and be wary of anyone “guaranteeing” approval — the decision always rests with Malaysian Immigration.
